This combination medication is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, with metformin, a biguanide, to improve glycemic control by different mechanisms of action.

Indications:

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus:

  • Indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, particularly in patients whose blood sugar levels are inadequately controlled with diet and exercise alone.
